Oak Smoked Sharing Packet of Biltong
Oak Smoked biltong was chosen by the Selfridges buyer for their Deli counter. It is the favourite of our British customers. The recipe is based on our Original flavour with a few tweaks and has been smoked to make it even tastier. Ingredients: British Beef, Malt vinegar Barley, Worcestershire Sauce (Malt vinegar from barley, Spirit vinegar, Molasses, Sugar, Anchovies,Fish Tamerind Extract, Onions, Garlic, Spice, Flavourings) Coriander, Ginger, Sea Salt, Sugar, Black Pepper.
Greeff’s Beef Biltong Oak Smoked is a 100% natural product, we do not use nitrates and it is air cured with malt vinegar and salt to preserve it. This works perfectly in a very dry climate. However, you will know this is not the UK climate!
We replicate the perfect conditions in our butchery and pack it as carefully as we can. However there is always a percentage of biltong in the UK climate that will eventually grow mould. This is entirely normal and natural.
Our 100g packet of biltong is to share with friends. We understand that many people find this impossible and enjoy it all by themselves! The pieces selected are cut from sticks that may have fat, some pieces may be dryer, some may be wetter. The shelf life from date of manufacture is 6 months due to gas flushing into an ambient sealed packet. If you find one or two pieces with mould, please disregard them, the rest of the biltong in your packet is fine to consume. If however the actual packet has blown/got a hole in it due to a manufacturing fault, please take a photo and send it to us and we will replace the packet free of charge.
